How Does It Work?
In a nutshell, the process of gently tapping on specific meridian points on your face and body provides a calming signal, taking you out of Fight or Flight Mode and into a mental state that allows you to approach emotional triggers & issues that you may or may not be aware of. You can Think of Tapping as acupressure without the needles. You will be asked to notice what comes to mind when you think about a presenting issue, and follow the winding path your subconscious takes to process it. most people are surprised to discover what comes up!
What can I expect during a session?
During a session, you can expect to meet from the comfort of your home via Zoom. You will want to have time set aside that is free of distractions and in a calm location. As tapping can bring up unexpected emotions, it is best to have tissues and water handy. Tapping works best when you have a goal or issue in mind, but if you don’t know what’s bothering you, we will meet you where you’re at! Be prepared for repetition, and non-linear thinking. the subconscious mind is new territory for many of us!
How do I know how many sessions to do?
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither were your engrained limiting beliefs. One single session will introduce you to the process of tapping and give you tools to calm down your nervous system when stressful situations pop up. A multiple session bundle will allow you to begin to delve deeper into the patterns that you have carved in your subconscious and begin to clear those pathways. for on-going maintenance, many people choose to do bundles throughout the year to consistently support the process of self-discovery.
Are your services suitable for everyone?
One-on-One Tapping sessions can be a vulnerable process. Although it is suitable for all people, it requires a certain level of honesty with yourself and willingness to explore potentially uncomfortable emotions. If you are unsure of your comfort with this level of vulnerability, you can always start with a group tapping session to feel out the process without feeling put on the spot. How Is Tapping Different Than Talk Therapy?
Although an EFT tapping session has many of the same tenants of talk therapy, the questioning process of Tapping is geared towards accessing the subconscious. EFT focuses more on the mind-body connection. Instead of talking through your experiences, you will be repeatedly encouraged to tune into your body and scan it for information. in this way we can re-wire the brain.
What should I do after a session?
The practice of Tapping is just that, a practice! Make sure to tap daily if you can, and begin to notice the patterns of your mind. Pay attention to negative beliefs, ruminations, and body sensations that come up on a regular basis. Begin to notice nuanced shifts and synchronicities. The language of the body can be elusive, and learning it takes time. Be gentle with yourself and remember that the work you are doing is making a profound difference in the quality of your life!
